Final press release interlift 2023: Success for the world's leading trade fair
Around 19,000 experts from over 110 countries came to find out about innovations and trends in the lift industry. Top ratings from exhibitors and visitors ensure a positive outcome.
Augsburg – The interlift 2023 has shown that it has returned to the level of the pre-Corona era. Almost 19,000 top-class lift experts from over 110 countries were in Augsburg to find out about innovations and trends in the industry. And their verdict was clearly positive, as was that of the more than 500 exhibitors.
The managing directors of the trade fair organisers AFAG, Henning and Thilo Könicke, also conclude on a positive note: "The interlift 2023 was a great success. We are very pleased with the high level of satisfaction among exhibitors and visitors, who were able to achieve good business deals. There is already great excitement in anticipation of 2025 and the great interest in the interlift 2025 is reflected not least in the high rebooking rate - even while the interlift 2023 is still running."
Top marks from interlift visitors
The assessment of the world's leading trade fair by the international trade visitors was positive all round: 93% of the visitors surveyed gave the exhibitors' range of products and services the marks "very good" to "satisfactory", likewise 93% would recommend the interlift to others, 92% intend to visit it again. These assessments are particularly valuable because they were given by competent industry experts: 67% of those surveyed are involved in procurement decisions in a decisive or co-decisive way, a further 18% of the visitors are involved in investments at least in an advisory capacity. 46% of the surveyed visitors come to prepare or secure an investment, 28% have already concluded deals at the fair. Last but not least: 55% of the interlift visitors come exclusively to the interlift to find out about the latest developments in the lift sector and not to any other trade fair in this sector.
Confidence despite a crumbling construction industry
In view of the crisis in the construction industry in (Western) Europe and also in China, which has been going on for some time, the assessments of future industry development are cautious: 58 percent of the visitors surveyed expect an increase in development in the next few years - in 2022 it was still 67 percent. Just under a third expect a stable level, 14 percent even expect a weakening of the development in the lift industry.
Achim Hütter, Chairman of VFA-Interlift e.V., had many meetings during the four interlift days: "Despite the slump in new residential construction, the interlift 2023 was a super trade fair. We were able to have great technical discussions and the quality of the visitors was excellent. Many exhibitors told me that the interlift 2023 was the best trade fair they had ever been to."
Positive feedback from international exhibitors
The good number of visitors and the high quality of the visitors ensure a positive balance for the interlift 2023 on the part of the exhibitors: Thus, 90% awarded good marks overall for their participation. Expectations for post-fair business are also high: 90% speak of "very good", "good" or "satisfactory" expectations. No surprise then that 90% are already saying that they will participate in the interlift 2025 - only 1% are not planning to do so at the present time.
